FAQ
Answers before you order.
What is an apostille?+
An apostille is a certificate issued by the FCDO that authenticates the signature and seal on a public document, so it's accepted as valid in another Hague Convention country without further legalisation.
Which documents can be apostilled?+
Certificates of Incorporation, Good Standing certificates, board resolutions, memoranda & articles, powers of attorney, notarised passports, birth/marriage certificates, academic transcripts and more.
How long does it take?+
The FCDO typically returns apostilled documents in 3 to 7 working days from submission. We add same-day intake and next-day return courier on top.
Does my document need to be notarised first?+
Some documents — private documents, POAs, copies of passports — need a UK notary or solicitor to certify them before the FCDO will apostille them. We arrange this if needed.
What if my destination country isn't in the Hague Convention?+
The document then needs consular legalisation instead. We handle that too — contact us with the destination country and we'll quote you.
